Screen Cleaner: Why It Matters To You

Just about everyone has a computer of some sort today — whether it is a desktop, laptop, tablet or some other smart device. We are using them constantly throughout the day. Both for personal use as well as virtually every kind of business is using them. Many people spend their whole day of work at a computer. What does this mean? Computers are going to get dirty, so it is important to keep them as clean as we can. Especially with screen cleaner.

Why is it so important? Virtual Technology gives a few reasons.

Keeping your screens clean will obviously help keep your office looking professional. This is always important — especially if you have customers inside the office. A good job of keeping things clean will also help you avoid a few other problems.

Use Screen Cleaner To Avoid These Problems

  • If there is a buildup of dust inside your computer, it can clog the fan. The fan is supposed to keep your computer cool. Too much dust can prevent the fan from working correctly and cause the computer to overheat. When this happens, it can ruin parts of your computer, shorten its lifespan, and force you to replace it much sooner than is necessary.
  • In addition, the unwanted dust and overheating may make your computer operate slower. Who has time for that?
  • If you have spilled your drink or crumbs of food or have too much dust getting inside your mouse or keyboard, they may stop working properly. It can be hard to clean those things out. You’ll be better off by keeping them cleaner in the first place.
  • Another problem that may pop up with stray food and dust is germs. Those pesky buggers will take advantage of the opportunity and grow on those dirty spots. This will increase the chances of people using the computer getting sick. Nobody wants that!

Allowing these things to happen will decrease your ability to be productive at home and work. That is a recipe for frustration and unhappiness. Don’t let this happen to you!

Tips For Cleaning Computers

This is going to require a few supplies. Go ahead and get them collected before you start cleaning your computers. You will likely need a collection of screwdrivers that are different sizes and have different heads. You should also have a can of compressed air, a small paintbrush you can use for dusting, and a soft microfiber cleaning cloth. Note: You will not want to try cleaning this equipment out with a vacuum. Doing this may cause static that can fry your computer circuits and chips.

Now, before you begin, make sure that all components of the computer are turned off and any auxiliary products like speakers and cords are detached from your computer. You should also make sure that you find a good place to clean out the dust. You don’t want to blow the dust out of your computer onto your desk and have another mess to clean.

Cleaning The Tower

  • First, unscrew the casing that is on the opposite side of your motherboard.
  • Use your compressed air to blow the dust out of the computer — hitting each part while keeping the can a few inches away so it doesn’t knock any parts loose.
  • Use your cloth and paintbrush to finish removing the dust.
  • Replace your casing.

Cleaning The Keyboard

  • Carefully flip it over and lightly tap it to knock out crumbs and dust.
  • Blow around the keys with your compressed air.
  • Use your microfiber cleaning cloth to wipe it down.

Cleaning The Mouse

  • Open the back and take out the ball.
  • Use your compressed air to blow into the opening and around the buttons.
  • Wipe it clean with your cleaning cloth.

Cleaning Your Screen

For computer and TV screens, LCD, plasma, flat, touch, and any soft screens: Shut off the screen then spray Pristine on a soft clean cloth, preferably an Ultra Fine Microfiber Cloth, wipe the screen with the damp side of the cloth then use the reverse side to dry the screen.

It is recommended to clean your computer a couple of times each year. You should also at least give it a look periodically just to make sure that it isn’t too dirty. Performing these small tasks to keep your computer clean will save you some money and headaches in the long run.
